Dr. Frank Liporace, Dr. Richard Yoon, and Dr. Jaclyn Jankowski would like to invite all interested and qualified individuals to apply for a year-long Orthopaedic Research Fellow position for the Orthopaedic Institute at RWJBarnabas Health - Jersey City Medical Center and Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. This presents a unique opportunity to work with renowned faculty in the field of trauma and reconstruction surgery. 

The research fellow will work closely with Dr. Liporace, Dr. Yoon, and Dr. Jankowski and their clinical teams, as well as the orthopedic surgery residents at the Rutgers – Jersey City Medical Center Orthopaedic Residency program. Duties include assisting in study design, gathering and analyzing data, IRB preparation and submission, industry-sponsored prospective study execution, submitting and presenting current work at regional, national and international conferences, and preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Past fellows have published in multiple journals and presented at multiple annual national orthopaedic meetings.

 

Where: Jersey City Medical Center, 355 Grand Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302

When: Beginning Summer 2026, ideally May 2026.

Duration: 1-year, full-time position.

Salary: Research stipend available

PREREQUISITE EDUCATIONAL LEVEL OR CREDENTIALS: 3rd year or 4th year medical students, medical school graduates, residents, and/or physicians interested in conducting clinical research in the field of orthopaedic surgery are all encouraged to apply for the position.

Knowledge and familiarity with RedCap, IRB submission, Microsoft Excel, and statistical analysis software, such as SPSS, are strongly preferred. Unfortunately, we are unable to sponsor J-1 Visas at this time.
