Hello,

Dr. Nathanael Heckmann, Adult Reconstruction Surgeon at Keck School of Medicine of USC, invites US medical students to submit applications for a position that's opening in the USC Department of Orthopedic Arthroplasty research group. The position is a Arthroplasty Research Fellowship for the 2023-2024 academic year.

This is a funded position within an highly productive group, offering a great opportunity for students to publish high volume, high impact studies. Research fellows will also work closely in the clinic with prominent orthopaedic attending surgeons, residents, fellows, medical students and faculty. Our group boasts past fellows who have done well applying to residency.

Dr. Heckmann's research focuses on clinical outcomes following hip and knee arthroplasty with a particular interest in understanding the interrelationship between degenerative diseases of the spine and hip. His research is also focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of infections following hip and knee replacement surgery. Finally, a significant arm of research focuses on socioeconomics, specifically how insurance coverage can impact access to quality specialty care.

To express interest or apply, please contact Natalie Kistler ([email protected]). Feel free to reach out with any questions.
