The Division of Foot and Ankle Surgery invites third- and fourth-year medical students or medical school graduates to apply for a one- or two-year clinical research position in Foot and Ankle Surgery. Your primary PI will be Dr John Kennedy but will be involved with the entire Division of Foot and Ankle Surgery, with opportunities to work with other Divisions within NYU.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to strengthen an application for the orthopedic surgery residency match. Because you are expected to work on numerous projects with several investigators, it is paramount that you possess excellent organizational and communication skills.

Your responsibilities and daily activities include learning how to develop a research hypothesis and conduct a review of the literature, prepare a research protocol, and understand the steps involved in submitting applications to an institutional review board. Opportunities exist for exposure to hospital, clinical, and research settings; observing and practicing surgical techniques in the Surgical Skills Lab at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital. You will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing clinical research data; and preparing the results for submission for academic publication and presentation to peers.

In addition, you have the chance to audit courses related to clinical research duties and data analysis skills at NYU Grossman School of Medicine.

Researchers should expect to obtain 10-20 publications over the course of their research fellowship.

Interested individuals should contact the current research coordinator at [email protected] with a copy of resume, CV, STEP (1 & 2, if possible) scores, clinical rotation grades (if possible) and cover letter. Please attach all files as one document.. Interview invitations will be extended in the coming weeks!

**We offer paid & volunteer research positions**
