I was wondering if someone could explain where we can find out info about the requirements that different programs have for applications, ie only ERAS requirements, special recomendations forms, college transcripts. Also how do we find out about when the deadlines for applicattions are? I know that some programs list it on their websites, but some programs don't have websites or don't list applications info.

One thing I did was to look on the Frieda website and call each program that I was interested in to find out about any requirements other than ERAS and the # of LOR's needed at that program. I found that the program coordinators were very accomodating and answered any questions i had. This was time consuming, but I'm not totally sure you can trust the program websites completely.

That is very true bonebar. If you look closely at some of the websites, many have not been updated very recently (years) and may not have the correct (current) requirements and the dates posted on these sites are almost never right. That being said, Freida isn't always the most up to date site either. I would recommend placing a call to the programs you're interested in if there is any doubt.

I would also do a search for "special requirements". I had started this thread last year that listed some of the special requirements that some programs had (ie. Harvard needs a chief resident LoR, etc).

DO you recommend calling all the programs that you intend to apply to (50-60 for example) or just the ones that you are very very interested in??? Thanks for the input

I would make sure you know the requirements for every program you are applying to. If you can't find it on the website then I would call. Programs are looking for reasons to throw your application out, so if you forgot to jump through a hoop...you lose. It sucks but its true.
