The Orthopedic Foot and Ankle team at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care is seeking competitive applicants for a one-year paid, full-time Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Research Fellowship for 2024-2025. This applicant will be working at Baptist Health Doctors Hospital in Miami, Florida, under the guidance of Dr. Cary Chapman, Dr. Thomas San Giovanni, and Dr. Christopher Hodgkins. We are seeking a fellow who is engaged, personal, and a self-starter. Ideally, candidates will have finished their third year of medical school, but we do consider unmatched recent medical graduates. Prior experience in IRB writing, scientific writing, literature review, and/or statistical analysis is preferred. We are unable to offer visas at this time.The expected start date will be June 1st, 2024.The clinical research fellow will be able to engage directly with attending surgeons, acquire hands-on clinical experience, and undertake multiple research projects, all while deepening their understanding of orthopedic surgery. Our goal is to expose the researcher to all facets of orthopedics and provide tools that will be essential to the fellow throughout their research career as an orthopedic surgeon as well as improve their chances of matching within an orthopedic surgery residency.In this full-time research fellowship, you will be responsible for:· Coordination and designing of all research projects.· Data collection, analysis, and synthesis· Drafting and assisting in the writing/editing of foot and ankle/orthopedic surgery manuscripts, reviews, book chapters and textbooks· Drafting and submission of protocols to the Baptist Health Institutional Review Board (IRB)· Presentations at any local, national, and international conferences· Attendance at our weekly Morning ConferenceBenefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance alongside employee-matched 401K contributions.
