Any opinions/thoughts on Beaumont vs. Kalamazoo? Can only go to one...
Does either program have a recurring history of only taking rotators? That may help you out if you can find out that kind of information. Beaumont takes four residents and it looks like Kalamazoo is up to three now. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Unfortunately, sometimes it's a numbers game to help guide your interview choices. Both programs have good reputations.

Kalamazoo does have 3 residents. Past 2 years have taken 1 or 2 rotators, prior to that 1 rotator every 2-3 years. Certainly don't have to rotate to match. Feel free to ask any ?'s

We take 4 a year at Beaumont and are in the process of applying for more. In the current intern class of 4, three rotated as medical students, but the class above had no rotators. If you rotate and do an outstanding job, it definitely helps your case. Feel free to PM me with any specific questions about the program, I feel it is an elite program that gets overlooked due to its proximity to Detroit.

To anyone's knowledge, have either of these programs ever taken a DO? Thanks.

Hi, BrickTamland. For some reason my PM isn't working, so I'll post my questions here. You mentioned that you thought it was an elite program. Would you mind elaborating on that?

Also, I was browsing the Orthogate posts and saw that someone said there wasn't much clinic time at Beaumont. Now, don't get me wrong, I love the OR and would rather be there than the clinic anyday. But I also realize that clinic is very important and where we learn which patients to operate on and which ones should get expectant mgmt. Can you give me the scoop on clinic time.

Finally, do you have any tips for the interview day?

Thanks!
