I know that people are probably tired of all the "can i do it" posts, but i would really appreciate any advice from anyone.

I am currently a third year from a top 10 medical school in the midwest. My second year grades were half honors and half pass. My Step I score was a 227 and my third year grades so far have all been High pass, but i still have IM, Psych, and OB left to go. I have done research concerning the spine and intervertebral disks with a neurosurgeon and have 4 years of research experience from undergrad in another topic however.

I am willing to apply to every program in the country and would like to know if I would have any chance of matching. I want to go to private practice so I don't necessarily need to go to an academic powerhouse institution (right?).
