hey guys, i was hoping some of you wise individuals can help a dumbass 3rd yr like myself. I am trying to plan my 4th yr schedule, and i was originally under the impression that you should try to do your home and away rotations in the first 3-4 blocks, in order get ortho LRs in on time. But 4th yrs at my school that have already matched, and the dean of students here, have been recommending that in the first three 3 blocks, I should do a home ortho rotation, and then a rotation in general surg, surg icu, etc... and get LRs from these rotations. They said i shouldn't do away rotations until blocks 4-6 ( months of oct-dec), and that i should not get LRs from these away rotations, but just try to get an interview and increase my chances for matching there. What are your thoughts...i thought that most people get all 3-4 LRs from just orthopods - is this not the case, is only 1-2 LR from othopods enough? I really have no idea when to plan my aways, i'd appreciate some advice from the guys in the know-how. Thanks
