Recommendations:
1. Tell your Dean that he is a dumb-ass and he should keep his piehole shut until he learns how the process works for ortho...seriously.
2. Have your ortho rotations done by october (at the latest), esp. if you need LOR's from them.
3. Get all of your LOR's from these ortho rotations and only these ortho rotations. Programs don't want letters from ass surgeons or boob surgeons. They want letters from there own kind. You should have all of these LOR's either turned in, or at least in the process by the end of Sept.
4. Unless your home program is at the top of your list, doing it early may help, just to get some experience, etc. (or you could do it late and tell your program to pound sand anyway.)
