Can someone come forth and comment on Emory's ortho program?

Thanks a lot,
If you do a search on here or ask anybody who has rotated at Emory, you'll usually find that the response is uniformly positive. For me, Emory offered everything I was looking for in a program: early operative experience, a great variety of cases, awesome attendings, cool ass residents, multiple exposures to each subspecialty. I also really liked Atlanta. You will work your ass off though, especially at Grady (the big county/trauma hospital) for I think 30 weeks your 2nd year and 10 weeks years 3-5, so if ball busting and q4 call is not your bag then you might want to look elsewhere. All in all though, I think Emory is an absolutely outstanding program and you will come out of there knowing how to operate and handle anything that comes your way. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Hey,

Did you rotate at Emory? Is there any advice that you could give as to which service to rotate on? Thanks.

Rotation schedule goes like this: everybody does 2 weeks of trauma at Grady and 2 weeks at Emory. The 2 weeks at Emory are split into 2 1 week blocks with a different attending each week. Nearly everybody gets one of those weeks with either Roberson (chairman, joints) or Oskouei (PD, tumor) but never both. I guess some people didn't get either of those two, so just try to do the 1 week with either Roberson or Oskouei.
