Hi,

I'm a very strong applicant to an orthopaedic residency program (great references, publications etc) but i herald from an overseas medical school (Australia) so I realise that I'll have a tough time getting in to orthopaedic residency in the US and so was wondering if anyone had done the math on how much it would cost with Eras to literally apply to every program?

$60 for the first 10, $80 for the second ten, $100 for the third ten, then $25 each for the rest. There are 179 programs (I think). So 60+80+100+25(179-30)=$3965. Someone can correct me if I don't remember the numbers accurately, but this gives you a close estimate. Plus you would have to take the four USMLE exams (step 1,2 CK, 2 CS, and 3) if you already haven't (I don't remember the cost except that CS is like $900, the others are around $100-200 aren't they?).

Step 2 CS and CK are $1450.
