Hi,

I have to choose between the university of Arizona or University of New Mexico for one of my externships. Does anybody have any input regarding these two programs?

Thanks,

Le fou
I recommend giving a list of things you are looking for in a program, so people have an idea of what kind of information might be helpful.

Hi,

I am looking for a program where people are friendly, approachable and eager to teach. I also would like to know if any of these 2 programs strongly favor rotators for matching.

Thanks,

Le fou

First, all programs favor rotators.

Second, I suggest you do substantially more reflection upon what is important to you for a residency, beyond "friendly, approachable, and eager to teach".

We don't know you, so it's impossible to give any worthwhile advice besides our biased opinion unless you provide more information.

New Mexico heavily favors rotators (unlike ALL programs as stated earlier). If you didn't rotate there, they highly recommend that if you didn't rotate there that you come back for a second look. The PD and Chairman also were 2 of the friendliest I met on the interview trail. DOn't know anything about Arizona though

Wrong, ALL programs favor rotators. To think otherwise is ignorant or delusional. The degree to which they favor depends on your own personal definition of "strong" or "heavily" I suppose.
