Is anyone aware of foreign grads (specifically St. George's in Grenada or Ross in Dominica) getting accredited U.S. ortho residency spots? How difficult is it and are there any hoops to jump through? Is it more or less difficult than a DO getting a spot? Thanks!
This is a topic that usually comes up yearly. If you haven't already, please use the search function and use fmg and img in the keyword section.

Here are some numbers for 2003. I don't have 2004 yet. They will be out in September.
152 Programs
3024 Orthopedic Residents
2942 (97.3%) USMDs
285 (9.4%) Women
62 (2.1%) IMGs
2 (0.1%) Canadians
18 (0.6%) DOs

Where can one get those numbers? Also, do you know how many folks actually apply for ortho spots? Thanks.

The numbers are listed in one of the September JAMA issues every year. You can also find information through FREIDA
