provided you work hard and don't do anything stupid, they liberally give out honors, right? as opposed to the core IM, where you walk on water and they're still wondering if you're honors material.

anyone have an experience at a school where they did not grade well despite hard work?
u guys gotta be kiddn me...nobody has any light to shed???

Aren't most schools' senior year courses pass/fail anyway?

Alot depends on your school and where you are rotating. My school still uses an honors, high pass, etc... system even for senior electives. When one does an away rotation they generally have to use your home school evaluation unless some other stipulation has been made. As far as whether aways hand out honors like it's candy, I don't know. But I think if you go and bust your ass then you'll earn what you deserve. There are no hard and fast rules (that I know of) to get honors on a rotation at another institution. Each place has their own method for grading, and rotators who show well during these auditions should get good grades I would imagine. I haven't heard of any anecdotal stories of people working hard in ortho and not being rewarded with an appropriate grade in the end. But just remember, that places that get a lot of rotators see applicants all the time who are basically working for a shot at one of their spots, so they have become pretty adept at picking out what they like (and rewarding it appropriately). :roll smile:
