Hey can someone give me the low-down on Henry Ford? Or the interview experience there? Is living in Detroit as bad as ppl make it out to be???

Thanks everyone and good luck.
Already interviewed at Ford. I was actually pleasantly surprised. The main hospital is pretty nice, and the residents I met were all cool. If you get the morning interview session you're in luck, otherwise there is a lot of sitting around I heard. Interviews were very laid back, some slightly more rigid than others in terms of questions asked. More I think an element of the interviewer's personality. You have four faculty interviews 1:1. Then one with two chiefs.
As far as living in Detroit, it's a tough call. I think all of the residents (and chairman for that matter) told me it's not that bad at all. Yet, I think every single resident in the program lives in the suburbs. Overall, it was a pleasant interview experience. :smokin:

i am definetely the vocal minority, but i love living in detroit. there are so many chillin things to do here, you just gotta dig around to find them. more than a few real safe, upper-middle class apartments to live in downtown also.

interview was worth goin to. didn't get the same vibe about the residents, but definitely loved the program director- he is a real stand up guy.

good balance of downtown trauma stuff, and then farmed out to do more regular joe community ortho.
