HSS for superstars...?
Is HSS just for the superstars, or us mortals have a shot at it?

why hss??
while a great place to practice, have surgery or do a fellowship, its probably
less than idea for residency.
go somewhere without fellows, where the residents get to do alot.
go there for your fellowship once you prove you are a star.

HSS isnt all that brother. first, you wear medical student coats if you can believe it. second there is
absolutely no trauma at all which is hilarious for an ortho program. i think its a great place to be a patient
or even fellow but not a resident. their pretention is not justified.

I was planning on doing a rotation at hss; mainly to generate a good rec letter. Considering the
comments in this post, is it really worth it? are there any other programs where doing an elective can
boost my app?
thanks, Jose

HSS?
HSS? Why it's that sound that an overinflated ego makes when it loses air. Actually, HSS stands for
Hospital for Special Surgery. It's Cornell's program and it's located in the heart of New York City (535 E.
70th St., New York, NY 10021).

They list all of their fellows with biographical data. However, it doesn't seem to be updated for the class
of 2001.
