anyone can tell how much is the chance for a IMGs to get into this ortho residency. If a student graduated for long time (in 1998) and he has a orthopaedic master in his home country...and has good usmle score..which place to apply for a better chance..Or is there any other way to do this and is there any place for that ..please help me..thanks
This topic has been discussed several times in the past. Do a search using IMG or FMG as your topic and you should find a couple threads. On FREIDA it says that of the 3,002 residents/fellows, 1.7% are IMGs. Who knows what percentage of that 1% are actual residents, since I've heard that some programs do have foreign fellows here for a certain period of time to train, but are going back to their home countries afterwards. Anyways, ortho is tough to get into even when you're a US grad, a lot tougher when you're an IMG, but good luck.

UVA seems to have a lot of IMG residents.
