Stood up by Rush and UCDavis, both via e-mail.
Not a good day.

Harbor-UCLA says that one attending is still looking at apps. They are hoping to have an answer from him early next week and will send invites out via e-mail. The secretary, however, said that interview dates were not yet set which I find very hard to believe. Oh well. Hopefully they'll get on the ball and get something out next week.

Brown for Jan 7th or 8th....informal get together the nights before.

anybody happen to know what dates Cleveland Clinic interviews? (either in the past or present)

Already lined up: albany, nymc, tufts, Wva, penn, a few others....

Rejects from about 30 programs.

Nate-dog, the UW vs Utah (Seattle vs Salt Lake City)? Utah may be good, but it's not the UW and other than skiiing, what are you going to do in Salt Lake for 5 years? At my school (not the UW), Washington is probably the program that is held in the highest regard by every resident and attending I've spoken with (including my chairman). I just wish they han't stiffed me.

Mt. Carmel snail mail 1/8,15,22 - Anyone know anything about this program - is it the Danny Devito of Columbus (The left over crap, compared to OSU the Arnold of Columbus?)

Yeah dude...I would like to take the 17th if we are able to trade...

I sent Barb an e-mail letting her know I had a conflict with the 17th and would like the 18th (10 min ago) - so presumably if you do the opposite Colles, then she'll take care of the rest - hopefully it'll work out for us both.

Saw the note by DogBone. As an Ortho R1 at another highly regarded program, I would say Utah anyday over UW. My bud is a resident at UW and they are killing him. I didn't even apply there because of the brutal reputation they have. If you want a brutal lifestyle, apply. It is a great program, but you have to be game for getting your ass whupped regularly. They dont call UW the "Death Star" for nothing

. Utah on the other hand probably gets the same fellowship placement, only interviews 20 a year for 4 spots!!! and is a great resident friendly program. Salt Lake may suck and you may be stuck drinking 3% EtOH beer, but at least you have time to drink the beer. :pimp:

Dogbone and GoCanes, thanks for the replies. I talked to two residents at my home program who were both U. Washington students and both did M4 away rotations at Utah. They both independently suggested going to Utah...so I will. Thanks for the input and best of luck to all.
