I'm an MS3 at a mid-tier medical school. Like many of us, I came to medical school to become an orthopedic surgeon. I was an all-american football player in college. I have honored every class and clerkship so far in school and scored a 255 on step1. Junior AOA application has been submitted and I anticipate that I will be accepted. I have very little research with 1 peer reviewed abstract and no current publications.
I just finished my surgery clerkship and am nervous about our NBME exam. It crashed midway and needless to say we lost a lot of time on our exam. I'm not sure how it is going to workout, but obviously I am nervous about the outcome.
My question is, if I end up only passing my surgery rotation, given the rest of the information on my application, is this something I should worry about?
Thank you everyone for your time.
