Virk, MD; Young W. Kwon, MD, PhD; Andrew S. Rokito, MD; and Joseph D. Zuckerman, MDStart: Approximately 7/1/2022 (Orientation begins 1-2 weeks prior).Research Fellowship Experience: This is a wonderful opportunity for a highly-motivated individuals to strengthen his/her application for the orthopedic surgery residency match. The research fellow is expected to work on numerous projects with several investigators, the clinical fellow, and residents; therefore, excellent organizational and communication skills are paramount. The division currently has over 40 active and ongoing projects. Duties of the fellow include, but are not limited to:- Developing projects in accordance with the rest of the team- Data collection, management, and statistical analysis- Drafting, editing, and submitting studies for publication (abstract and manuscripts)- Write and get IRB approval for new study protocols/ continuing reviews on active studies- Use of REDCap and microsoft office software- Enroll patients and ensure completion of prospective studies - Supervise medical students assiting with divisional studiesIn addition, the fellow will have the ability to audit courses related to clinical research duties and data analysis skills at the NYU School of Medicine. Opportunities to be mentored in a hospital clinic and research setting are available as well. Application Process:Selected applicants will be interviewed and offers made on a rolling basis based on medical school performance, research experience, and interest in the program.
