How did everyone decide on the number to apply to? Especially the <15 person.

I'm just refreshing this back to the top---only 9 responses with 200 hits?

I was suggested a "ballpark" for how many applications I should send out by a few of the faculty and residents. Nobody told me less than 30, so I must not have the Step I 285 that warranted the rocks to only throw out 15 apps by whoever.

The reason there are so few people participating in the poll is because you must be logged in to cast your vote. There are always a lot more anonymous users than registered users on this board.

finally got my application in today.......ended up applying to 40 programs. more than i originally wanted to apply to.....i just got to the point where i couldn't eliminate any other programs. I tried to stick to programs that i would actually consider going to. good luck to everyone

I was in the 15-30 because I applied to 30. I will probably add more. My guess is that some people stayed at 30 to avoid the price increase in applications.

just out of curiousity.....at 138 which programs didn't you apply to, and was there any particular reason that you didn't??

59. my 1st selections totaled 39, then i added another 20 in case, and ended up getting only 2 more interviews out of it.
