LibraryOfMedicine.com has started a global healthcare mission to better educate the public on medical topics using online open access peer-reviewed review articles written at the 7th-8th grade reading level. This is an official publication registered with the Library of Congress. This will help to better educate the general public on various medical topics and provide an easy to understand literature review to help guide their decision making. One co-author is allowed per review article.

Thank you for the information

I visited the website and I am very interested in getting involved in the global initiative on the peered-reviewed medical journals. I am currently a third year medical student. I had an editing internship at Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation (WI) in college. I was wondering if I can contribute anything as a medical student.

Absolutely. There is no restriction on whether you have 1 or 2 authors. No more than 2. The benefit of having this written along with an attending is that it brings more credibility to your article with the reviewers and editors. The site is currently being redesigned to the beta site that will be functional for both patients and providers. We are also upgrading the journal management system to Editorial Manager. This will make it much more user friendly. Thanks for the interest. If you have any questions you can reach me at cdoumas@libraryofmedicine.com
