Rotator friendly programs?

Um, all of them?

If you are looking for a program on the west coast Loma Linda is rotator friendly.

From what Ive seen all 4 that matched this year rotated through. Last years class 3 of the 4 were rotators.

I wouldn't call that rotator friendly...to me rotator friendly is a program that appreciates you taking the time to come down and take a look at their program, spends time on teaching rotators (which of course costs them time and money) and where attendings make an effort to know the rotators and hopefully write good LORs...oh and pay for housing and food while you are at it...nothing shows your appreciation more than some moola

I can't think of a single place that pays for your housing and food. I wish I could get the money I spent on my NYC away back.

From the trail and my interview day there, The one place I heardthat really emphasized med student education was Georgetown. They also heavily favor rotators when they make their rank list. The smaller programs that don't see a lot of rotating med students I would think are a pretty good bet too. The fewer rotators, the more attention for you.

Thing is, however, aways are an audition. Most people select them based on where they would be happy as a resident, not on what kind of teaching they get as an MS4. That's why most people define "rotator friendly" as "best chance to match there."

SUMMA in Akron, gives you housing and free food (at least in 05-06) when I rotated there. It was very student friendly and a great experience. I ended up wanting to stay in my home town, but this is a fantastc program and trains very good surgeons.

Cleveland Clinic also provides housing, not food, but hey, a roof is a roof

UT chattanooga and Greenville SC both provide food and housing

Rotated as a med student: William Beaumont provides housing within walking distance to the hospital, money for food on call days, and about half of each class is rotators, so that's pretty rotator friendly.
