I am a third-year at a Midwest med school trying to plan for a couple aways. I have been doing some reading about programs in the Midwest on this site and Freida. I have gotten all HP at a H/HP/P grading scale with a single H in Peds, have a 229 Step I, and have a good orthopedic research project and case report, both of which I hope get published or presented. My primary interest is in tumor, sports, and peds, but I like it all. Anyone out there with opinions on good programs to check out, specifically Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Loyola, Indiana, Ohio State, Case Western or any other Midwesterns?
Check out the search function at the top of the forums. There is a ton of great info regarding each of those programs as well as some more in the Midwest. The "Matched Credentials" thread is a great place to get a look at previous applicants scores, grades, research, and where they ended up matching.

Hey rwbrhp29
I would definitely come check out Indiana. They take 5 every year and get an amazing clinical experience here with a county, Peds, VA, and University hospital. They also have required rotations with guys from the Indiana Hand Center which can basically pave your way into the fellowship if you do well and get along. I know that PGY-2s operate early and often and that residents here are happy. Also, Dr. Jeffrey Anglen is the new chair here and is supposed to be awesome. I think that an away rotation here would be highly advisable if you are interested in the program. Just my two cents.
