Since there aren't any good rankings out there - what does everyone think about the top Southern programs - of course Duke but I've heard Emory, UNC, UTSW, UT-Houston, Campbell Clinic and Miami as well. Any thoughts?
I ranked UTSW next to last after having gone down there to interview anticipating that I would rank the program very highly. I just wasn't impressed by the residents themselves and thought they made a lot of excuses for their program. But, misery loves company, so I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who will argue to the death in favor of UTSW. I guess that in theory I could end up there, but hopefully I won't match that far down my list.
I think you would have to include the Carolina's program in Charlotte as one of the top 2 along with the Campbell clinic from the standpoint of reputation and notable attendings.
