Did anyone use Q bank and find it to prepare you well for Step II?
Did you find the Step II questions to be tougher or on par with Q bank?
Thanks.
Just took Step 2 yesterday, so I won't be able to give an accurate answer until I get my scores back, but I'd say QBank was a good prep tool. Definitely not enough on its own because you'll get sucked into Kaplan's way of asking questions. I actually had a few questions on the real thing that I only knew because of Kaplan. Random stuff that I missed on QBank and thought there is no way in hell this kind of stuff will really be tested. Do some other questions like the retired USMLE questions or Appleton & Lange or something to get exposed to different ways of asking the same stuff. All in all though, I'd say QBank was probably pretty much on par with the actual exam as far as difficulty. That's just me though.

Good luck.

I studied my ass off for Step 1 using mostly review books w/ minimal Q bank, did OK (upper 230's). Took Step 2 right after 3rd year, studied while on psyche and used only Q bank and did 23 points better! I went over each question twice (focusing on why incorrect answers were incorrect).

I agree with Piggy. I did more reading than Qbank on Step 1 and was not all that happy with my results. On Step 2 I did the entire UW and just read Secrets. I made sure to thoroughly study UW and use Step Up Medicine to just briefly review things. I did much much better on Step 2 and in my entire clinical year mainly because I focused on a lot more practice questions.

Practice, practice, practice, and just give yourself a brief review of Secrets to cover small random junk.

I did USMLEworld and found no correlation at all. I was getting like 60% avg and got a 260 on StepII. The questions on USMLEworld were so much more difficult it was ridiculous.

Just for the next group of folks coming through: the general consensus at my school is that USMLEWorld is the way to go for Step 2. I used 1200 or so of the ?'s and was pleased with the outcome. Also, we've found that the correlation between the quiz results and final score are either spot-on or better-than-expected. I matched and this was my only study source.
