I'm an M3 finalizing my away rotations and am probing for some thoughts on Baylor and UT. I'm going to do an away in Houston, but am having trouble getting info on these places. Any recommendations on where to spend a month?

Look back through the old posts. There have seen some on both programs.

I agree with Mike. Look thru the old posts, then see if you have any more specific questions. I'd be glad to answer any remaining questions with my humble opinion.

Hey Longhorn Orthopod,

Just curious, but what school in Texas (I'm @#$uming that's where you're from, from the name) are you from? As you and plenty of people have figured out, I'm from Baylor. Just curious if I ran into you on interviews and whatnot. Congrats on getting into MCV. At Baylor I believe we got 6/8 into ortho.

I'm from that school across the street. I know we interviewed at UCLA together and a couple others. I figured it out from where you matched. I remember you saying you told them they were your No. 1. I also did a rotation at Campbell Clinic, and we met right before I left. Congrats on getting your No. 1. As you know(if you remember me), I had a big disadvantage in ortho, but I'm really happy for where I matched. It could have been much worse! Keep in touch throughout residency. I'd love to hear how the experience is going for the rest of the interns, etc.

Hiya,

Yes, if you're the person I'm thinking of then you have XX chromosomes. Definitely congrats on matching but I don't really remember what disadvantage you had, but its not important any more. Once again, nothing we've done in the past matters much anymore and we're again all at equal footing. Next time we're like this it will be for fellowships or jobs. =)

If anyone who knows me or met me on interviews wants to keep in touch during residency, e-mail me at medstud02@aol.com for now and when I get my new e-mail address at Pitt I'll give that out to you individually.

Longhorn orthopod,

Sorry about that joke about having big balls (i.e. buying the T-shirt before the match). I guess it would have been funnier if you were a guy =). Although you were probably smiling pretty hard when I posted that. Did you interview at CWRU? And did some guy give you a ride to your hotel? If it was, that was me. I might be mistaken though. Congrats on matching.

Bone Jock
p.s. Spirit Mike, have you figured out who I am yet? We interviewed together at Indiana =).

Yes, it's true. I'm a girl, as Spirit Mike can vouch for. I thought it was nice for ya'll not to know for a while, since some of the previous posts have been pretty testosterone heavy. But oh well. The secret is out. Bone Jock, I laughed my @#$ off on that comment. But it's great. I want ya'll to act, talk, write exactly the same way you would've had you not known. But I didn't interview at CWRU. That must've been another ortho chick. Mike, the disadvantage I was speaking of WAS my XX chromosomes. I don't think it worked to my advantage at all. But like you said, who cares! I matched at a great place and we're all going to be orthopods. Keep in touch, at least keep visiting the board next year. That goes to all the posters!
