At my school when transcripts are sent out they only have third year grades, no fourth year. Therefore, none of my ortho rotation grades are on it. Is this pretty standard? I know that my dean's letter will talk about the ortho rotations but they won't get that until November. I'd like for the programs to know earlier, b/c I did well on them. Is this pretty common practice? Or do most med schools rescan transcripts with updated grades regularly?

My school also has only grades through June on the transcript, which immediately sent me into a small fury. The administration said that they had never added any more grades, and that the deans letter is the only way to get the word out that you hadn't been a slacker. They did, however, say that they would be adding grades in December, and that I could request to have an updated transcript sent at that time, even though they must realize that this is after all interviews are offered! Just letting you know that you aren't alone in getting somewhat screwed by the system, once again.

Sorry guys, but my school is adding my first 2 ortho aways onto my t-script. I guess that's the advantage of going to a much smaller school with fewer students per class. I'm trying to overcome regionalism, so getting those programs that are out of my area to see that I rotated out in their region is crucial for me. If you're in the same boat I suggest you do all that you can to get that info. on your script.
