UCSF and Step2

So I know that UCSF has a institution wide requirement for Step 2 but I was wondering if anyone knew how strict the orthopaedics department was about this? Do they require it before they rank you or have people been able to get away with not taking it?

So I contacted them about this. They said they need a score in their hands by Febuary in order to rank you. They don't need one earlier to hand out interviews. Hope that helps.

for what it's worth....

i had my result back on Feb 15th or so, submitted my score at that point, and the administrator said this was not a problem.
