Can't speak much on Colorado (didn't apply there) but if you're looking for programs in the mountain west you should seriously look into Utah. Amazing new chairman (Saltzman from Iowa), brand new beautiful Orthopaedic facility, every area of Ortho is represented with great faculty and Salt Lake is a LOT closer to the mountains (ski resorts) than Denver.
