We encourage applicants to apply for an away rotation with our new Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program at HCA Florida JFK Hospital / University of Miami Miller School of Medicine at Palm Beach, Florida. This is a unique opportunity as you will be able to play a large part in shaping a new program. As a small, new program, we can adapt quickly to create the best learning experience. Not to mention, you will not have to double scrub with senior residents which means more 1-on-1 operative experience with faculty. Speaking of faculty, ours are fellowship trained at leading programs including Harvard, Cleveland Clinic, New England Baptist, and the University of Miami and hold leadership positions in their subspecialties. Additionally, our faculty already have functioning practices to which you will be added and are committed to academics and teaching, meaning our residents will obtain the optimal learning experience in a privademic model. This also means you can spend more time in the operating room your first year with one of our current residents logging 59 cases in the first six weeks of intern year!Outside the clinical aspect, we have an established research infrastructure with statisticians, research fellows, medical students, and our proliferative Program Director, Dr. Vani Sabesan, to help you accomplish your research goals. Lastly, our program also features all the traditional learning opportunities including weekly grand rounds and didactics, monthly journal clubs and industry sponsored hands-on labs, self-guided virtual reality skills practice, and an intern bootcamp to build a foundation of orthopedic skills, as well as some unique opportunities regarding the business of medicine. We have just scratched the surface with this post, so we encourage you to visit us before applying and learn more about what makes our new program great!See details below on how to apply! All of our audition rotation applications are offered through our medical student rotation software, Clinician Nexus. If you have not already done so, please create a profile in Clinician Nexus and search for the elective rotation and dates for which you are applying. Once you have found the rotation, you will see application steps and documents that need to be uploaded in order for your rotation to be considered, such as USMLE/COMLEX Transcript, CV, Personal Statement, Medical School Transcript and other documents. Your school must be LCME accredited. To start your application today click on the link below!
