Hi, I'm new to this here forum. I'm just starting third year, so I wanted to get an idea of if I can even get an ortho residency based on my credentials so far.
Step one was a 230. I have no research experience whatsoever and I spent the summer between first and second year doing nothing (big mistake I know and knew while it was happening). The first two years at my school are pass/fail and I never failed any courses or tests. So, I'm wondering about a couple of things. First, grading for the clerkships seems like it's so subjective there's no telling what it will take to get honors, so will it be possible to match without honors in surgery? Second, is research experience mandatory? Will not having any be a major problem.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated and of course taken with a few grains of salt. Gracias.
