Not ALL programs start on July 1st. Our program actually starts June 23rd, and we needed to be there a week ahead of time for orientation.

I think most start orientation somewhere between June 14th and June 21st though.

My orientation started June 10th (last thursday) and I start on the wards on June 21st.

I start orientation on June 23rd. July 1st is start date

the reason why I'm interested in this is because I'm getting married, and we'd like to have the wedding June 3rd, but don't know if that would leave us any time for a honeymoon if my residency starts early. I think from what I've heard from everyone its kinda a crap shoot, so I guess I'll just take my chances. Thanks everyone.

I think you're safe and reasonable at most places if you plan the wedding/activities to conclude the second week in june.. (june 14th ish)

Bump. Would be great if we could get this going again with updated start dates for different programs. In a similar dilemma to Lcook and could really use an idea of earliest possible orientation dates. Thanks everyone.
