I am interested in getting to know more info about these programs from current residents or those who have applied or interviewed or just know something about these 2 programs. Specifically, is there a commitment to serve after the residency and how long is it? any info would be much appreciated.
i don't know exactly what you mean, but neither of these programs are military programs.

beaumont is a great program with huge spine names.

I thought William Beaumont was actually Texas Tech (El Paso) program - sponsored by William Beaumont Army Medical Center. I think San Antonio USHEC is both Army and Air Force: Army at Brooke Army Medical Center and Air Force at Wilford Hall......but then again, I'm straight up civilian. As for my two cents, if you are speaking about Wilford Hall, I rotated at UTSW with a PGY4 from Wilford Hall and I was VERY impressed not only with his knowledge of academic orthopaedics, but also with his skills as a surgeon. My guess is the Air Force guys in San Antonio are very well trained. I don't know much about the Brooke Army program. I hope this helps.

I have an Air Force Scholarship and did a rotation at Wilford Hall. It's my understanding that you can't apply to these programs unless you have a Health Professions Scholarship from the military or attend USUHS. I believe at one time there were a couple civilian spots at William Beaumont-El Paso, but I don't think they do that anymore. If you look closely on FREIDA, all the military residencies will say that they are not accepting applications. I think the Army goes through ERAS, but I think this is just for those in the military applying to those places. If you still want some info on Wilford Hall, then let me know.
