Yep, I'm an American IMG as well. I matched this year, first time around. Because I decided a little late, I took a year to do some research.

thanks for the inpit guys, i was wondering if you can give me any info on which programs are open to FMG doing senior electives in their program so i can get the much needed great LOR.

It is realy trial and error when trying to find programs that will take IMGs to do 4th year electives. I got mine through connections, and because I did not need any paperwork from the University (only the hospital and department), I went straight to the Chair and bypassed the medical school which would have said no. I only did my 8 weeks at 1 hospital, and they Chair only let me because I was known to them.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot, what exactly is FMG/IMG?
