I am a PGY1 general surgery prelim in New Orleans, and I had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. McCormick and his colleagues Dr. Roche and Dr. Levy at the AAOS conference last week.

They were all extremely personable, supportive, and interested in my success in discussions of the prospect of this position. They are all also up to a large volume of some very innovative stuff (MAKO total knees and sensor-guided soft tissue balancing for Dr. Roche, arthroscopic Latarjet and Bankart repairs as well as tibial plateau-glenoid transplantation for anterior instability for Dr. McCormick, and some excellent work on reverse TSA and elbow instability for Dr. Levy).

I was honored to be considered for this position, which, from these surgeons' candid description, is truly a self-guided one with some opportunity to a little bit of clinical work and some degree of mentorship from existing research assistants (two of whom I met, and they also were tremendously easy to get along with and highly experienced).

I would very highly recommend strong consideration for applying for this position to any and all students interested in orthopedics.
