The Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics (RIAO) at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore offers a two-year orthopedic research fellowship position with the Center for Joint Preservation and Replacement. This is a salaried position that will begin on or before July 1, 2021. Applications are currently being accepted on an ongoing basis.

This fellowship presents an opportunity to work with national and international leaders in the areas of total joint replacement, prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, to gather and analyze data, to attend and present your work at regional and national conferences, and to assist with FDA trials of new drugs and devices. Previous fellows have published multiple PubMed-listed articles and have presented at the annual AAOS and AAHKS meetings. Research fellows will have the opportunity to attend daily education conferences with the orthopedic surgery residency, led by Program Director Dr. Jack Ingari, MD. This is an excellent opportunity to improve your CV, bolster your orthopedic knowledge base, and increase your chance of matching into an orthopedic residency.

Almost all previous fellows (>98%), including allopathic, osteopathic, and IMGs have successfully matched into U.S. orthopedic residency programs.

Research fellows will work under the direction of:
-   Ronald E. Delanois, M.D.
-   Michael A. Mont, M.D.
-   James Nace, D.O., M.P.T.

GOALS:
-   Investigate the clinical aspects of total joint arthroplasty and preservation.
-   Learn to create and extract clinical data from institutional and national databases
-   Develop a better appreciation for biostatistics in the setting of orthopedics
-   Prepare manuscripts and textbook chapters.
-   Present at research meetings, seminars, journal clubs, symposia, and professional society meetings.

PREREQUISITE EDUCATIONAL LEVEL OR CREDENTIALS: All candidates who will be medical school graduates by July 1, 2021. experience in biostatistics is a plus.
