I have not heard one way or the other from any of the programs below. Motivation to sit and call/email every single one is not going to happen. If anyone has insight on any of the programs please post . . . another way to go is to split up the list and we'd each only have to call a few programs.

Drexel
Lenox Hill
St. Luke's
Maimonides
NYMC Brooklyn-Queens
NYMC Valhalla
Mount Sinai
UMass
Dartmouth
Monmouth
Seton Hall
UMDNJ - Robert Wood

I finally grew some balls this morning and sent out e-mails to the places that had me hanging. Here's what I've gotten back.

UCI - denied

UCLA - Left my cell number with the staff. Still no call back

HSS - 9th on waitlist. Kindly suggested I not book a flight yet. He was sure that I was a great applicant and I'd match somewhere though (a well needed boost of confidence).

NYU/HJD - Still reviewing apps. More invites at the end of the week.

GWU - Invited

PSU - Both dates full with waitlists? (not exactly sure what that meant), but they'd contact me if there were any openings.

Jefferson - done

UCSF - still waiting

Georgetown - still waiting

Carolinas - still waiting

Loyola - denied

LIJ - denied

Sinai - still waiting

St. Lukes - invited

Hey dudes and ladies,

Next to my interview at UNC this last Saturday, this is the first time I've thought this whole process was fun.

Regarding my earlier encouragement to contact programs, case in point, GWU just sent me a personal e-mail and offered me an interview on Jan 13th (fortunately I've managed to keep that day open so far).

I am now sold on the idea that you can only gain by spending a few minutes sending out requests for info. I added a little subtle humor in my canned request, perhaps this helped give a favorable impression, but who the hell knows!

Oh, and thanks mongoose, perhaps that TJU spot will come my way.

Just to keep some additional perspective, last year I got some first-wave interview offers into the beginning of January for a few of the programs -- especially Northeast programs -- with second-wave requests in the middle of January up to a few days before the interview dates.

If I remember correctly, some of the really late ones were NYMC x 2, Lenox Hill, Monmouth, and Seton Hall.

Bonehead77 must be really smooth in his emails b/c I am not getting any love from sending emails to programs; maybe a little carpal tunnel, but no invites for sure.

Sorry to hear that Kimball, I thought it might work well for everyone. I don't know about smooth, but I was polite, very humble, and mildly humorous. For perspective, I did get 2 rejections for all my effort (UCI and Loyola), but I am happy to know because now I don't have to continue to dance around their interview dates also.

More updates:

St. Lukes - Invited for an interview. See invite thread for details if you care.

Long Island Jewish - Many of the invitees couldn't make their dates. Their coordinator is going to meet with Dr. Dines (PD?) to see if they are going to offer those spots to additional students. Now is probably a good time to show your interest.

this is getting a little silly . . . does one of us need to call Lenox Hill and remind them that they have a residency in orthopedic surgery? Perhaps they forgot . . .

Since people seem to be anxious about the nyc programs, I thought you all should know that NYU-HJD is still reviewing applications and is still sending out "first wave" interviews.

Thanks Jude,

That is first class info, especially for those of us that have fewer interviews than we'd like.

LIJ Update - per the coordinator, "I don't believe any additional interviews will be offered."
