It's definitely happened to me. I responded to one school in 3 minutes and still didn't get the date I wanted. After talking to a friend who rotated at the hospital, he informed me the date I wanted was reserved for rotators first. In reality, I never really had a chance. That might play a role at some of the other programs too.
