Although I haven't received any yet, I'm sure that we're all doomed to get a few. I thought it might be helpful to everyone to start this thread along with the invitation thread... a good way to tell these programs "GFY"

hey guys, keep your heads up. we all get rejections (just some more than others).

I realize I am one of the more fortunate ones, but my rejections have slowly been creeping in and my silent list has been growing (now up to 11). I also got the axe from loyola and OHSU yesterday. I guess you need thick skin to get through this process.

Got the boot from McLaren via e-mail on 12/1. Damn, I really wanted to see if Flint was as nice as Michael Moore makes it out to be.

My home state (OHSU) told me to screw off for the second time in 4 years. I guess they had enough of me.

Spardi--we feel your pain. I have stopped posting my rejections for fear orthogate would run out of server space. As soon as a good email comes in, 4 "save it's" appear in your in-box before you even have a chance to smile.

I haven't been rejected this often since my 8th grade dance. And if you think I'm a tool now...

Wow. Remembering middle school makes the match seem almost warm and fuzzy.

No love from Tufts.

Now UMass is the only one that can keep me from a complete Massachusetts shutout.

UW is nuts!

they send some wierd rejection letter saying they're interviewing people only "serious" to match into their program. I guess I'm not serious. Actually, these thousands of dollars I'm spending for interviewing, flights, hotel rooms, applying, etc - it's all really just a joke. I'm not really going to rank anyplace anyways.

In fact, forget Ortho, I was kidding when I decided to apply.

Actually, I think I'll just go find myself a "suitable program", but wait a minute, if I have 250+ boards, many honors, and lotsa extracurriculars and am still 'unsuitable' for 'UW Ortho', I am not suitable for ANY ORTHO, so why bother searching around for some mysterious "suitable program"...

Damn!

Prior to Thanksgiving things were looking up, now is going downhill FAST.

Rejected by UC-Irvine on 11/30 via snail mail
Rejected by Pitt and Thomas Jefferson via email on 11/30

I remember the good ol' days when I used to check my email only to find 2 rejections for every 1 invite. NOW, I've gotten 13 straight "thanks but no thanks".

Somebody, anybody invite me over. I'd love to visit ur program!

Jefferson said "uh, no" on 11/30.

In the past week, also got the finger from Duke, Boston, Utah, Columbia and U Conn.

Ouch, this is a painful process.

Long Island Jewish gave the "at this time, you have not been granted an
interview" by email on 11/30.

Perhaps my application will look better at a different time.
