I have another question about aways and would really appreciate the advice.

I have applied to two aways in august and september. I haven't heard back yet. They are at pretty competitive places, am I likely to get the rotation or should I be applying to other places for the same time?
If I do that, what happens if I get two rotations for the same month?

Thanks for the help,

why don't you give them a call and ask? call them every week if you have to. if they tell you no, then at least you know ahead of time. if you apply to 2 programs and get accepted at both, then you burn yourself( a little ) at one of them. but with bureaucracy working in your favor i bet you still would get an interview. it is not like the residency director approves all of the rotators, the coordinator does that- at least at the places i was at. good luck

Definitely call and ask. It's way too easy to get lost in the shuffle of things. I was accepted for an away rotation and then cancelled for a differrent school about a month before it was supposed to start. I ended up getting an interview at the original place and didn't get an interview at the place I spent the month. As long as you give the place lots of lead time about cancelling, then you should be OK.
