Brown University Division of Adult Reconstruction and Arthroplasty in Providence, Rhode Island is accepting applications for a 1 to 2 year paid clinical research fellowship position.
Our division includes 5 core total joint faculty, an adult reconstruction fellow, and 10 adult reconstruction, hip and knee surgeons with an opportunity to work closely with all of them as well the rest of the research team including residents, students, and staff. This is an excellent opportunity to expand one’s knowledge and research experience in orthopedics as well as clinical exposure to augment background and strengthen future applications.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clinical database buildout and management
- Data collection and simple statistical analysis
- Assisting with research and educational meetings
- Drafting and submitting IRB protocols
- Management of clinical trials and ongoing studies
- Manuscript writing and submission
The position will provide the fellow with opportunities such as:
- Strengthen your medical school or orthopedic residency application
- Direct guidance and mentorship from experienced orthopedic clinician-investigators
- Co-author multiple manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, and posters
- Opportunities for additional clinical work such as medical assistant duties, scribing, etc
- Networking with residents, fellows, and attending orthopedic surgeons
Application criteria:
1. Experience/understanding of clinical research and medical writing
2. Plan for pursuing a graduate medical career - preference given to medical students on hiatus or applicants to orthopedic residency program
3. Independent thinking, self-motivating, and excellent time management skills
4. Previous publication history in peer-reviewed journals
5. NO WORK VISA/DOCUMENTATION WILL BE SUPPLIED.
