The word is out that SLU has gone to a 6 year program. Do you guys know of any other places that have chosen to handle the 80 hr thing this way -- or programs that are batting the idea around and telling us that "they will be in compliance, don't worry, we're still working on the details."

SLU is definitely 6 years.
Cleveland Clinic is 6 years as well, but that's been true for a few years now.

Anybody know if there are any programs in Texas, Louisiana, Okla., New Mexico that are six years? Is there some place where I can get a comprehensive list of programs by years needed to complete?

6-year program list (so far):
SLU
Union Memorial
UCSD (?)
Drew

Please add to the list.

UVA has a 6-year (research) option. They take 5 per year and will match 1-2 on the 6-year track for qualified applicants interested in a year of research. There is no call or clinical responsibility during the year (PGY2) in the lab.

Brown - all do 6 yrs

NYU - 2/12 do research year = 6 yrs (decide among yourselves at start of pgy2 year)

Case - 2/6 same situation as NYU

Penn - 2 spots at Penn as a separate match

hope that helps
