the website mentions that dartmouth gives 1-2 of their 3 residents per year the "special" opportunity to do a couple years of research...does this mean that it's required (or forced upon you) or only if you wanna do it? thanks...

ps...any other info on this program would be highly appreciated also

Dartmouth has 1 of its residents do a year in their special MPH / Leadership in Orthopaedics research. This spot has traditionally been offered outside of the match. I am an intern at another program, but I thought highly of Dartmouth and ranked them in my Top 5. You have to love living in the country and it helps if you are married (all of the residents are). The staff there are very cool and the residents seemed happy. Dr Weinstein is a big spine guy so if you have an interest in spine then Dartmouth might be the way to go.
