Position Title: Clinical Research Fellow 
Positions: 2
Duration: 1 year 
Who: Medical students (between third and fourth year or medical graduates) seeking a year-long research fellowship interested in Sports Medicine Orthopaedic Surgery. Please note, we are unable to sponsor any international applicants at this time.

Where: Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush University Medical Center, Division of Sports Medicine, Chicago, IL.
When: April to June 2026-June 2027 (duration 1 year, potential to extend)
Salary: A $15,000 stipend is divided into monthly payments

Dr. Adam Yanke, Director of Clinical Research and Assistant Director of the Cartilage Restoration Center, invites interested and motivated individuals to apply for a clinical research fellowship at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush and Rush University Medical Center. This position provides the unique opportunity to work directly under a leader in orthopaedic sports medicine with a specific focus on the treatment of cartilage restoration and patellar instability, among other topics in sports medicine. We are seeking forward-thinking, self-driven students to explore their interests in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine by working in a fast-paced clinical research environment and biomechanics lab determined to produce high quality, novel research.

Current Areas of Active Research Include:
· 3D-printed, patient specific instrumentation
· Biological therapies (BMAC, PRP, amniotic products, etc.)
· Patient reported outcomes
· Procedure-specific outcomes and associations
· Biomechanics studies pertaining to the knee and shoulder

Prerequisites and Applicant Characteristics:
· Motivation for a career in orthopaedic surgery, with a proven interest in research
· Strong academic record and work ethic
· Organized, detail-oriented, proactive
· Experience with data analysis and statistical software (SPSS, STATA, R, etc.) preferred but not required

· Dr. Yanke expects all applicants to be able to match into orthopedic surgery and will provide guidance during the interview and match process.

References or letters of recommendation from any research or orthopaedic experiences are preferred, but not required. After review of application materials, select individuals will be invited for virtual interviews with the current research team followed by interviews with Dr. Yanke.
