Georgetown has an excellent program, I'm not sure if one of the rotation sites has changed, but they rotate at Georgetown University where they have a great joints (Dr. Evans) spine (Drs. Wiesel, Lauermann, Sherping), Pediatric (Delahay), Foot and Ankle (Cooper) Sports (Dr. Klimkiewicz, Caroll), hand (Dr. Haque). The program director is a very smart guy who likes to teach and has "Delahay rounds" where residents and students are asked questions.
Other rotation sites are Arlington Hospital, which is a great community based hospital, and Fairfax Inova, a large HMO with plenty of trauma,
I think things may have changed up a little so that they go to Washington Hospital Center for some rotations (Georgetown restructured under the MedStar Umbrella which includes that hospital).
Tons of students at Georgetown want to go into orthopaedics (like 30 a year sometimes) because the department is so strong and it is a great experience. The senior residents that I know are still there are very fun to work with and work for, and so are the attendings. Washington DC is a great place to live. Rounds start at 6am at GTown and there is a divide and conquer mentality so noone really prerounds there. Attendings do round and teach there which is more than I can say for some places. The one person they usually pick from outside GTown usually is really great so good luck
