This is not meant to freak anybody out. Just to get a sense of what's going on with regards to interview invites. Some people have had a good amount while others do not. I just ask that you answer the following questions below. I will start.

School: Midwest, private, USNews rank top 50
Applied: 90+
Interview: 7 total, including (2 aways and my home program)
Waitlisted: 3
Rejected: 13
Step 1: 240+
Step 2: Pending
AOA: No
Preclinicals: Mix of H, HP and couple Pass
Clinicals: 2H, 2P, rest HP
Ortho subI and Away: all H
Research: decent amount, 5 posters (including 2 ortho), no publications
Extracurricular: a lot
Letters: 2 big names, some regular people. They promise the letters will be strong
Any other strengths (eg, PhD, unique background, military, Athlete etc): none

I think you're doing pretty well. I'm in a similar spot. From what I've been told it's still early for ortho invites and you'll feel better at the end of November/early December.

School: Southeast, Public, Not top 50
Applied: 60
Interview: 8 total, including (2 aways and my home program)
Waitlisted: 0
Rejected: 7 (haven't heard from ~10 that have given invites according to people here)
Step 1: 260
Step 2: 270
AOA: No
Preclinicals: 2/3 A's, 1/3 B's
Clinicals: All A's (honors?), 1 B
Ortho subI and Aways: All A's
Research: Decent experience but not ortho - 1 poster, ongoing pub; ongoing ortho research
Extracurricular: enough
Letters: 4 excellent letters according to our dean
Any other strengths (eg, PhD, unique background, military, Athlete etc): Varsity football in college

Anyone here with less than 3 interviews like I do, excluding my aways and home program?

I'm beginning to think I won't match.

I'm there too. I have zero invites other than my rotations. The nonstop barrage of rejections has been brutal as hell. Shit, I didn't think I was gunna match at Iowa (or even get an interview), but I at least thought I would get 1 or 2 non-rotation interviews by this point...

Edit: as reference for those who may care:
Pre-clinical grades: all pass (p/f no ranking)
Clinical grades: a couple pass, hp, and honors. All ortho sub I rotations honors.
Step 1: 245
Step 2: scheduled for December
Applied to 83 programs

Applied: 70+ (couples matching)
Interview: 18 total, including 2 aways and my home program
Waitlisted: 1
Rejected: about 7, but many other programs have given silent rejections
Step 1: mid 260s
Step 2: Pending
AOA: yes
Preclinicals: pass/fail (all pass)
Clinicals: 2HP, rest honors
Ortho subI and Away: all H
Research: 5 posters (including 4 ortho), no publications, 1st auther ortho pub will hopefully be submitted soon, several other projects that have not amounted to anything significant.

Can we save the usual bragfest till after the match, please?

This is too neurosis-inducing even for me.

Man, I'd totally be worried about matching if I didn't have at least 18 invites by this point too.

This post was not intended to irritate anyone. It was meant to get an idea of what's going on during the interview invite season

It was and still is a good idea to see how other people are doing in the process. I think everyone realizes that Orthogate suffers from a bit of selection bias (though nowhere near the level at SDN), which can cause some added stress unless you view posts here from that standpoint.

I think this is really helpful. By no means is it bragging especially given my stats. I am really grateful and there is hope for everyone! All you need is one interview right?

School: South, not top 25 but I love it here
Applied: 70+
Interview: 6 total, including (2 aways and my home program)
Waitlisted: 2
Rejected: 25 and still counting
Step 1: low 230s
Step 2: low 240s
AOA: No
Preclinicals: 2 H rest HP
Clinicals: 2 HP rest H
Ortho subI and Aways: All H
Research: almost none, no pubs got involved late but have something to talk about on the trail
Extracurricular: Normal stuff, Ortho club, volunteering, etc.
Letters: 1 huge name, 1 PD from home program, 1 respected faculty
Any other strengths (eg, PhD, unique background, military, Athlete etc): Extensive military and other professional degree

Pretty mediocre candidate by orthogate standards but I think it is going pretty well so far. I have not noticed a regional bias and have been shut out by a lot of schools in my area while getting interviews and waitlists at places I never thought I'd hear from.

Seems like this forum has been quiet for a while. I know people are starting to cancel interviews, so others might benefit. I have benefited from people canceling at two places and will be attending those interviews. Hopefully, we will all match. Continue to share your story on this forum.
