i took step ii recently and was suprised to find that despite taking it with peds/ob/gyn fresh in mind, i scored 222 (12 pts lower than step i). while this is not a 'bad' score, its definately not higher than or equal to my step i. therefore, i'm trying to decide whether to report this score on my eras, or just let interviewers ask. any advice?

Dude,

Post this question in the regular forum section and you'll get more responses. I would personally not report them and let people ask if they want. Some guy posted previously that of something like 20 interviews, only one place asked about his step two scores. I suppose the liklihood of being asked about your step 2 scores depends on how stellar your step 1 scores are. Your step 1 is good, but not 'stellar' according to the numbers that are routinely thrown around on this webboard. I think whatever you do, just believe in it and have sound reasoning and be able to explain yourself without looking like you're trying to be a weasel. Good luck.

I had a similiar result where I went from a 235 on step 1 to a 231 on the deuce. Out of curiosity, do programs know if you took step 2 if you didn't check the automatically update box on the eras application?

The way I understand it, if you don't resubmit your USMLE transcript (and don't tell them you've taken it) they'll have no clue
