The Division of Hand Surgery within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic is excited to offer a year-long clinical research fellowship position under the direction of myself, Marco Rizzo, MD.

This position represents the ideal opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious individual to perform cutting edge clinical and translational research within the Mayo Clinic’s Hand Surgery Division. The goal of this fellowship will be to strengthen the fellows application to the Orthopaedic (or other surgical) Residency Match, as well as their future pursuits as a surgeon-investigator. The fellow will work on numerous projects under the direction of my team and me, with the goal of obtaining numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences.

Position: 1 year clinical research fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Responsibilities: The fellow will learn many skills, including how to develop research hypothesis, design and carry out clinical and translational research projects, organize large databases, perform basic statistics (under the guidance of my team), compose orthopaedic manuscripts and prepared national conference presentations.

Goal: Not only will the fellow acquire many skills that will help you to succeed as a resident, surgical fellow, and surgeon, but we also expect this year to be extremely prolific for them. We anticipate numerous first and second author publications, presentations at national (ASSH, AAHS, AAOS, MAOA, etc) and international meetings, experience within the clinic and operating room, and direct contact with many of the consultants in the department of orthopaedic surgery at the Mayo Clinic.

Application: Please send your CV and a short note summarizing your interests and goals to me at [email protected].

Thank you for your consideration in this opportunity.

Sincerely,
-Marco Rizzo
