Another question for the Vets: I was told by a resident during my away rotation that the chair of their department would be glad to give suggestions on my personal statements or CV if I wanted. My question is, "Would it be wise to this considering I really like the program and would love to go there?"...suppose my statement is not up to par for his taste?

I'm pretty sure that this is a win-win situation...you'll end up with a better statement just because someone that reads a lot of 'em is giving you suggestions. Even if you statement is not to par to his taste, he will help you to do this so you cannot lose....Even he doesn't like your statement, he's bound to help make it better so that he will end up liking it!

I think it's a great idea.
